If youve begun noticing that your face isnt looking as bright and youthful as before, it may be that you are showing natural signs of aging, or your stressful life is catching up to you.  Fine lines and wrinkles, sagging, and puffiness under the eyes all come with the package, and may start to develop at the same time.  An infinite number of treatments are on the market for these symptoms of aging and/or stress, but not all work successfully to treat you and bring you a younger version of yourself.  One treatment, platement rich plasma (PRP) rejuvenation, uses your own blood to rejuvenate your skin.  How?

Simple!  A small amount of blood is taken from you and spun in a centrifuge so that red and white blood cells can be separated from the platelets.  Platelets are the components in blood that are responsible for tissue healing and production.  This separation results in a plasma that is high in platelets.  The plasma is injected into particular parts of your skin (which require treatment) to allow the platelets to initiate tissue rejuvenation.  In this way, your skin naturally becomes smoother and tighter, with a great decrease in lines, wrinkles, and sagging.

How is PRP different from rejuvenation treatments like Juvederm?  Juvederm uses solid filling to eliminate lines and wrinkles, while PRP uses your own platelets to stimulate tissue production.  PRP volumizes different areas of your face and reaches trouble areas that Juvederm cannot.  The two treatments can be used in conjunction with one another, however.

PRP has been proven to be a successful rejuvenation treatment for skin.  Results may vary for each person but, as a rule, they take between 3 and 4 weeks to show, and multiple treatments are recommended.  If youre interested in learning more about PRP, contact one of our consultants at Florida Aesthetics today!
