IPL Gives Your Skin A natural, Radiant Appearance
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that can improve your skin’s tone, color and firmness and gives you a natural, radiant appearance. It transforms red or blotchy skin into a radiant complexion. IPL stimulates collagen production, which causes blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict. The growth of new collagen and the removal of damaged skin reduce redness and age lines in the skin. Florida Aesthetics and Medical Weight Loss licensed medical practitioners have achieved great skin rejuvenation results with IPL. Our patients who undergo our full IPL treatments observed minimal discomfort and short-lived mild redness and swelling after the treatment.

Indications and contraindications
Modern IPL skin treatments are non-invasive and safe. Contraindications to this kind of rejuvenation therapy are standard: acute infections, inflammation in the treatment area, exacerbation of chronic diseases, diabetes, systemic connective tissue diseases, tendency to scarring, and pregnancy.
Before and after
Minor superficial pigmentation requires only one session to be removed. Immediately after the procedure, the pigmentation spots will become darker, but the old skin will peel off quickly and the stains will disappear without a trace.
Deep-lying pigmented areas require several treatment sessions. On average, the phototherapy course at Florida Aesthetics in Brandon consists of two to six sessions. The pigmentation will disappear gradually: the skin will become lighter with each subsequent procedure. As a result, your skin tone and surface imperfections will be improved!
The technology we use at our Tampa-area office comes with a variety of options that ensure best results. Our experienced medical aestheticians will select the treatment settings that best suit your skin condition, including the depth of light penetration into the skin tissue, the intensity of light flux, the number of pulses in one light flash, the duration of the pulse, and the intervals between pulses. Our technology has optical filters that are designed to cut out unnecessary wavelengths, optimizing the medical process for the best results.
Simple and Comfortable Treatment
Our licensed medical practitioners will selectively treat your brown and/or red-pigmented areas on your skin. The laser targeting those areas will cause the therapeutic effect. The treatment is simple, and comfortable, and requires no down time.
Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated. However, most treatments should take less than one hour. One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
You will start seeing results within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade. Diffuse redness or telangiectasia will decrease and your mottled complexion will improve.
New brown spots, telangiectasia and diffuse redness may appear with new sun damage; however they too can be treated. Our medical staff will work with you to help you adopt healthy protection from the sun, including always applying broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots.
Features of the procedure
IPL laser treatment removes skin pigmentation through the targeted destruction of skin cells that have a high content of melanin. During the treatment, a highly qualified medical practitioner at Florida Aesthetics will gently press the tip of the device to the skin; it treats the tissue with successive flashes of light and a certain number of pulses of a given wave.
During the procedure, patients will feel heat, mild pinching, and a stinging sensation. It is completely safe; the high-impulse light pulses cause no damage to the skin tissue. The treatment will not cause burns or sores on your skin.
Don't let aging and photodamage slow you down

Frequently Asked Question
What areas can be treated?
IPL is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. Light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to treatment.
What does the treatment do?
By selecting Program A, B or C, your practitioner can customize the IPL machine to your skin type and selectively treat the brown and/or red pigmented areas on your skin. It’s the heating of the pigmented brown or red cells that causes the therapeutic effect.
How Long Will The Treatment Take?
Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated. However, most treatments should take less than one hour.
What does the treatment feel like?
When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. Gel is recommended to cool the skin before vascular treatments. Anesthesia or pain medicine is typically not required.
How many treatments will I need?
One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
When will I see results?
Within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade. Diffuse redness or telangiectasia will decrease and your mottled complexion will improve.
Will the spots and redness reappear over time?
New brown spots, telangiectasia and diffuse redness may appear with new sun damage; however they too can be treated. Remember to always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots and diffuse redness. Rosacea is chronic and cannot be “cured” with any laser or light source, however its appearance can be improved.
What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up can be applied to cover the redness.
