CHIN FORWARD WITH KYBELLA INJECTIONS

Kybella is an FDA approved injectable treatment for adults that destroys fat cells under the chin to improve your profile, whether you have a moderate amount of chin fullness or a bit more. Kybella is non-surgical, fast, and effective.

Our experienced Board certified medical providers will assess whether Kybella is the right treatment for your concern area. You will start to see results within few days from the treatment, and you may need more than one treatment.

NON-SURGICAL DOUBLE CHIN REDUCTION

Chin fullness, otherwise known as “double chin” is experienced by some adults and may be unwanted. At Florida Aesthetics and Wellness, we recognize this. We offer Kybella – the only FDA-approved prescription medicine that targets and destroys fat cells in submental fat, resulting in an improved profile.

Kybella contains a naturally-occurring molecule in the body which helps to break down and absorb dietary fat. Injecting it into the fat under the chin leads to the destruction of fat cells, thus reducing the appearance of chin fullness. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer accumulate or store fat.

HAVE A QUESTION?
WE HAVE ANSWERS.

KYBELLA® is the only FDA-Approved injectable for adults that improves the appearance of your profile by destroying fat cells beneath the chin, your so-called double chin.

KYBELLA® might be for you if you are bothered by fat under your chin, also known as submental fullness, or you feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are. You should also consider Kybella if you want to reduce your double chin without surgery, you eat well and exercise, but the extra fat doesn’t go away. Repeating treatment is not necessary once you’ve reached your aesthetic goal.

Contraindications for receiving Kybella include infection in chin area, cosmetic treatments or medical conditions in neck area or near, trouble swallowing or bleeding problems, as well as pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The active ingredient in KYBELLA®is synthetic deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

Before starting treatment, your healthcare specialist will examine the area under and around your chin to determine if KYBELLA® is right for you. Then, your specialist will tailor your treatment to the amount of fat under the chin and your aesthetic goals.

The number of treatments needed depends on your individual situation and needs. Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient.

Our board-certified injectors will talk to you about your concerns and determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments.

KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including nerve injury in the jaw that can temporarily cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness (experienced by 4 out of 100 people in clinical studies) and trouble swallowing (experienced by 2 out of 100 people in clinical studies). In clinical studies, nerve injury in the jaw resolved on its own in a median of 44 days (range of 1 to 298 days), and trouble swallowing resolved on its own in a median of 3 days (range of 1 to 81 days).

The most common side effects occur in the treatment area and include: swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness. Side effects are usually temporary and often resolve themselves on their own.

After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing.
