How Much Filler
Is Too Much?
Overfilled is a choice, not an inevitability. The pillow-face look comes from too much, too fast, in one place. Here is how we keep filler looking like you, and why it is reversible.
Overfilled is a choice, not a side effect
The pillow cheeks and overdrawn lips you are picturing are not what filler does, they are what too much filler does. Filler, used conservatively, simply replaces volume your face has lost. Used without restraint, it changes your features. The difference is technique and judgment, not the product.
Dermal filler is a soft gel, usually hyaluronic acid, placed under the skin to restore fullness to cheeks, lips, under-eye hollows, and the folds around the mouth. The goal is to bring back what time and volume loss have taken, not to add something that was never there.
Why some people look overfilled
It almost always comes down to a few things: too much product placed in a single visit, one feature like the lips or cheeks overfilled while the rest of the face is ignored, or volume added again and again over the years without anyone tracking the total. Each of these is avoidable with a conservative, whole-face plan.
The reassuring part: it is reversible
Most modern fillers are hyaluronic acid based, and hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. That means an unwanted or excessive result can be corrected or adjusted, not lived with. It is one of the biggest reasons a start-small approach carries so little risk.
Our approach: restore, balance, build slowly
We use the smallest amount that achieves your goal, treat the face in proportion rather than chasing one feature, and build up gradually across visits instead of overcorrecting at once. You approve the number of syringes and the cost before any injection. It is the same natural-results philosophy we bring to every injectable.

This page is for educational purposes and does not constitute medical advice. Individual results vary. A consultation with our medical providers is the only way to determine what is appropriate for you.
Curious about cost? Filler is priced per syringe, and because we build up gradually many patients use less than they expect at first. We map out the plan and cost at your consultation, so see our pricing page and check this month’s specials.
Filler that looks like you, never overdone
Our board-certified injectors will assess your face, listen to your concerns about looking overfilled, and build a conservative, full-face plan you approve before we begin. No pressure, no obligation.
