What to Expect

What happens during a VI Peel® appointment?

Skin prep and cleanse (5 min)
Your provider cleanses the skin and degreases the treatment area to ensure optimal penetration.

Peel application (5–10 min)
The VI Peel® solution is applied in one or two passes. A tingling sensation is normal. The solution is left on the skin.

Take-home kit
You'll receive a VI Peel® take-home kit with post-peel towelettes and instructions. The peel continues working after you leave the clinic.

Peeling phase (days 3–7)
Skin begins to peel 2–3 days after treatment. This is normal and indicates the peel is working. Keep skin moisturized and avoid sun exposure. Final results are visible after peeling is complete.

Yes, VI Peel® is specifically formulated to be safe for Fitzpatrick skin types IV through VI, including Hispanic, Asian, and African American skin tones. The formula uses a blend of acids that minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that can occur with other peels on darker skin.
Plan for 3–7 days of visible peeling. Most patients peel days 3–5. You can return to most activities immediately, but peeling skin will be noticeable. We recommend scheduling at least 7 days before any important events.
