What is Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is Allergan's thicker, denser hyaluronic acid filler, engineered specifically for deeper nasolabial folds and more significant facial wrinkles and folds that need greater lift and structural support.

While Ultra XC addresses moderate folds and is also approved for lips, Ultra Plus XC is formulated for deeper correction. Using Allergan's HYLACROSS™ technology at a higher cross-linking density, it provides more lifting power and volume in the mid to deep dermis, where deeper folds need it most.

What to Expect

What happens during a Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC appointment?

Consultation & treatment plan (5–10 min)
Your provider assesses the depth of your nasolabial folds and any other facial creases you want treated. We determine whether Ultra Plus XC or a complementary product is right for you, confirm syringe count, and mark injection sites. Nothing is opened until you're comfortable with the plan.

Topical numbing (10 min)
A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. Ultra Plus XC also contains lidocaine, which provides additional comfort with each injection placed. Most patients find nasolabial fold injections well-tolerated throughout.

Filler injections (10–20 min)
The denser gel is placed at the mid to deep dermis level along the nasolabial fold and any other target areas using fine needles or a blunt-tip cannula. The depth of placement is what gives Ultra Plus XC its greater lifting effect. Correction is visible immediately.

Results & 2-week follow-up
Fold correction is visible immediately. Any minor swelling resolves within a few days. Your complimentary follow-up at 2 weeks allows your provider to assess results, confirm even placement, and address any areas that may benefit from a touch-up.
